David Hunt Lighting is a well-respected name in the lighting world. They are one of the oldest lighting manufacturers in Britain and have been based in the Cotswolds for the last 100 years. Nowadays many light fittings are made in China, or other overseas countries, but the majority of David Hunt lights are made right here in the UK.

Now, let’s explore a few of the David Hunt Lighting ranges. Firstly, we will look at a few of the most enduring of the David Hunt designs before we take a peek at some of the latest introductions.
ANTLER COLLECTION
If there was a David Hunt signature range then the Antler Collection would surely be a main contender. Wonderful hand-crafted lighting that simply oozes quality and sophistication. An extensive range offering chandeliers, wall lights, table and floor lamps.
The Antler lighting collection showcases David Hunt’s design and manufacturing skills perfectly. Each fitting is beautifully crafted to replicate stag antlers and hand finished in warm highland colours so they look as unique and natural as real antlers. The rustic elegance of this collection of British made light fittings makes them the ideal choice for lighting in country homes and houses, hunting lodges as well as country pubs.
The Antler wall lights pictured above are designed as feature lights for either side of a fireplace.
STATION LAMPS
Another flagship range from David Hunt Lighting. The iconic Station Lamp pendants are designed to replicate station lights that would originally have been used on our railway station platforms and waiting rooms in Victorian and Edwardian times. Today they are a great choice for lighting in entrance hallways or for hanging over dining tables and kitchen islands. In addition to the single pendants which are available in a choice of sizes, there are larger 2, 3 and 5 light versions. They are available to buy in a choice of metal finishes and painted colours. Working in conjunction with David Hunt we can arrange for these pendants to be painted in a colour of you choice. We can match any RAL, Dulux Heritage or Farrow and Ball colour.
The 2 light bar pendant is shown below in copper along with the 5 light ceiling cluster in chrome.
The 3 light Station Lamp bar pendants are shown above in both Cotswold Cream and chrome finishes. The image on the right also shows the single pendants in antique brass along with two other David Hunt pendant lights – the chrome Euston pendant and the Reclamation pendant in black with a copper lining. Both the Reclamation and Euston pendants can also be painted in bespoke colours.
THE GARBO
The Garbo is an elegant collection of hanging ceiling lights and matching wall lights in classic traditional styling. Available with either bronze or pewter frames decorated with mosaic detailing. This detailing is repeated on the ceiling rose and again at the bottom of the individual lights which are carried around the fittings on sweeping black arms.
The Garbo ceiling lights and wall lights are teamed with shades made in either silk dupion, linen or satin fabrics. The 100% silk dupion shades have a richness and variety of colour and texture giving a lustrous sheen. Linen is one of the strongest natural fibres and gives an elegant, subtle matt sheen. The satin shades are a combination of cotton and polyester fibres which create a soft, luxurious satin finish.
All these shades are supplied lined in white laminate as standard. Bronze, silver and gold metallic linings are also available. The bronze linings are perfect for teaming with the bronze Garbo fittings whilst the silver metallic linings work best with the pewter frames. You can select the colour of your shades and linings when you make an order. Samples are available to give you the opportunity to check the colour against your decor before you finally commit.
David Hunt Lights have always tended to be more traditional in design but in recent years they have added some industrial, vintage and mid -century ranges to their collections. So let’s take a look at some of the latest introductions from their 2018 Autumn and Winter Collection.
COSMOS
The opulent oversized Cosmos is a modern chandelier style fitting that is truly out of this world. A large striking feature light in a sputnik design. Orbs of solid brass in a soft buttery finish are linked together in this transcending fitting which is completed with clear glass globe shades. This impressive ceiling light has a maximum drop of 2.7 metres and created to look stunning in larger spaces and long drop stairwells
OPERA
Transport yourself to a night out at the opera with this impressive offering from the latest David Hunt Collection. This 18 light Opera chandelier exceeds the boundaries of elegance and is certainly designed to make an impression. It radiates a romantic opulence with its curvaceous solid brass frame in a charming butter brass finish. Suitable for lighting in larger spaces, entrance hallways and stairwells. A great choice for contract lighting applications too.
THE ADLING
The Adling range is a modern interpretation of industrial style lighting. Designed to give the appearance of factory pipework, these quality lights are bang on trend with their minimalist elegance. Manufactured in solid brass in a choice of an antique or butter brass finish. The range includes single pendant lights, a cluster of pendants and matching double wall lights. These fittings are perfectly placed to showcase vintage light bulbs and Bespoke Lights have a great selection of Edison filament bulbs that will add the perfect finishing touch. All of the Adling lights are double insulated and safe to use in homes without an earth cable.
THE DICKENS
Introducing the exquisite Dickens range. A splendid new collection of traditional lighting that includes ceiling lights or chandeliers in a range of sizes with matching wall lights. These quality light fittings from David Hunt Lighting are surely destined to become timeless classics. They are available in pewter or bronze finishes. Suitable for both home lighting and hospitality lighting applications, they have an elegant appearance ideally suited to creating an impression in Georgian and Regency interiors. The fittings can be styled simply with candle bulbs or teamed with some candle shades for a more homely look. Candle shades are available in a whole host of colours to allow you to coordinate with your furnishings.
Our images here show the largest chandeliers in the Dickens range. These impressive fittings have 21 candle style lights spread over 3 tiers and are designed for lighting in larger spaces that need an impressive feature light. They are shown above simply with candle bulbs and below teamed with candle shades to illustrate the two different looks. Smaller 6 light and 9 light versions are available for more modest interiors.
THE WOODLAND TABLE LAMP COLLECTION
This collection of table lamps was inspired by the landscapes and natural beauty that surround the David Hunt workshops in the Cotswolds. They feature charismatic rural characters and are a great addition to traditional homes during the winter months. They make the most wonderful gifts for any animal lover.
The much loved Hopper table lamp is aptly named as it features an alert looking hare sat majestically on three vintage books. A real work of art hand crafted in warm bronze resin in the David Hunt workshops. A lovely engaging lamp for a country style home or hotel. Shown here teamed with a taupe silk shade lined in bronze laminate. Other shade colours are available.
The delightful Tawny cast bronze resin table lamp features the endearing, wise old tawny owl cast in bronze resin. The attention to detail shines through with the intricate feather detailing achieved by the unique artistry and traditional casting techniques of the skilled David Hunt craftsmen. Sit him on a book shelf or on a sideboard and enjoy the quality British workmanship.
Puddle is a delightful cast bronze resin base table lamp enhanced by the distinctive patina of the antique brass metalwork. The attention to detail and depth of texture brings to life this lovable character with his air of curiosity, evoking nostalgic memories of much loved children’s stories. Hand made shades are available in a choice of colours and styles to customise the lamp.
The Horace pig table lamp. With a robust and determined countenance this astonishingly life like pig sits on top of a pile of well worn antique books. A whimsical and endearing character depicted in a copper finish and teamed with a marshmallow shade in a subtle nod to current interior trends.
