Bespoke Lights specialise in traditional lighting for period homes and contract lighting for hotels and hospitality lighting for pubs, bars and restaurants. We have an amazing collection of quality lighting that can be purchased ‘off the peg’ from our on-line store. But, what if you want something unique? As our name would suggest we are also a bespoke lighting company offering tailor-made lighting, custom-built lighting or bespoke lighting – whatever you want to call it – we do it. In this blog we will be taking a look at what we can offer outside of our standard lighting collections.
One size does not necessarily fit all and it may be that you simply want one of our lights in a different finish, with a longer or shorter drop or you would like to customise the fitting with glass or fabric shades. Our product summaries and descriptions indicate what options are available and the product images will either have a ‘Customise’ or ‘Bespoke Options’ banner. Simply contact us where you see these banners and let us know how you would like to adapt the fitting. Whilst it is not possible to adapt all our fittings in this way, we are very often able to suggest alternatives.
BESPOKE COLOURS & FINISHES
The Ardle pendants shown above are made to order by one of our manufacturing partners in Ireland and are available in a range of 10 standard colours and finishes. They make wonderful lights for over farmhouse tables or kitchen islands and are ideal for hospitality lighting in cafes and coffee shops. In addition to the standard colours and finishes, this pendant can be made to order in any colour you choose – simply contact us for more details. The pendants come with 1 metre of cable as standard but should you need a longer drop – no problem.
The Bermuda chandeliers are designed and made in UK and ideally suited to traditional Georgian or Regency interiors with high ceilings. Shown above in distressed antique brass on the right and hand painted distressed cream/gold finish on the left. These fittings can be painted to order in any Dulux Heritage or Farrow and Ball colour to name but a few. Longer chain and cable can also be provided if required. Just give us a call with your requirements.
FABRIC & GLASS SHADE OPTIONS
These delightful cast resin table lamps are made in the UK and can be supplied with a choice of different coloured shades (shown below) so there is sure to be one to compliment your furnishings. Both the wise old Tawny owl lamp and the Hopper hare lamp are available in either a pewter or bronze finish. These charming lamps make wonderful additions to traditional interiors.
A collection of traditional bathroom wall lights from our Chester Collection. Nice quality lights made from solid brass in a choice of finishes – gold, polished nickel or polished chrome. With four different fittings to choose from and a choice of glass shade options which are all interchangeable you can pick the perfect combination for your bathroom.
LONGER DROP CEILING LIGHTS
Our hanging ceiling lights are usually supplied with enough chain and cable for most ceiling heights. However, if you have particularly high or double height ceilings you may find that you need a longer drop. If this is the case help is a hand as we can supply many of our larger chandeliers and ceiling lights with extra long chain and cable.
The Gothic chandelier and lantern shown above can both be supplied with longer drops if required. These lights are hand crafted here in the UK and made in solid brass with a distressed antique finish. Cast from an original fitting found in a Gothic church in Cork, Ireland dating from the 1800’s. Both these lights look stunning in entrance hallways and stairwells with high ceilings.

Let’s take a look at some of the projects we have worked on.
Courtyard Dining Area
Museum and Gallery
We were delighted to be involved in the renovation of this wonderful old Victorian house. Originally built in 1872 as a private residence for a local solicitor it was later acquired by two local councillors. who opened the grounds to the public. During WW1 is became a military hospital before becoming a museum in 1931. This latest renovation saw new areas being opened up to the public so visitors could see what life would have been like for a wealthy Victorian family.
Bespoke Lights were chosen to supply the lighting and we were able to recommend good quality reproduction lights that fitted sympathetically with period features in this Victorian house. Lighting with a historical feel yet with all the benefit and safety features that we demand of our light fittings today.
Featured Light Fitting for Double Height Entrance
We love a challenge at Bespoke Lights! This project involved the refurbishment of a 1960’s office block to provide retail space on the ground and first floor, plus 183 residential apartments on the remaining upper levels. We were approached by the interior designers to manufacture a large bespoke light fitting to hang in the double height entrance hall. Although we only played a relatively small part in this large re-development, it was crucial to create an impressive feature light for this large space. Working with the designers and our artisan manufacturing partner we came up with a design.

WHY CHOOSE BESPOKE LIGHTS?
We are part of the Hickin Electrical Wholesale Group established over 30 years ago. The company began by supplying local electricians, hotels and guesthouses in the seaside town of Minehead in Somerset. From these small beginnings we have become experts in all sorts of home lighting as well as commercial projects, particularly in the hospitality lighting sector. Bespoke Lights was launched back in 2012 with the aim of bringing discerning customers the best in quality lighting at reasonable prices. Although we have come a long way since 1988, we are still essentially a family business. We have not lost sight of our main aim which is to provide good quality lighting combined with the best possible customer service.
Here’s what some of our customers have to say
Brilliant customer service! We ordered three lamps from Bespoke Lights, one of which had to be made to order. Georgia was very helpful throughout the manufacture and delivery process and responded to all my queries promptly and efficiently. The lamps arrived extremely well packaged, which was reassuring as we have had a number of other items damaged in transit recently. The lamps are beautiful and finish off the room perfectly! Thank you.
Excellent communication and flexibility!
My lights were made to order…looking forward to seeing them in situ
